Chimney Maintenance
All chimneys (metal or masonry) need special care so smoke and combustion gases are properly vented. It is important to have your chimney cleaned at least every year.
Creosote accumulates in chimneys and stove pipes and could ignite unless it is removed.
Creosote is mainly caused by-
Slow smouldering or smokey fires
Cool surfaces such as external chimneys or non insulated flues
Burning unseasoned wood
